Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the questions come from?

All questions are provided by Open Trivia DB (opentdb.com), a free community-driven trivia database with verified questions across various categories and difficulty levels. Questions are in English and presented in multiple-choice format.

Will I get different questions with same settings?

Yes, Open Trivia DB has an extensive question database. Even with the same category and difficulty, you'll get randomly selected questions each time, ensuring a fresh experience with every attempt.

What's the difference between difficulty levels?

Easy questions cover widely known general knowledge. Medium requires some background knowledge. Hard questions demand in-depth expertise in the subject. We recommend starting with easy or medium difficulty.

Questions aren't loading

If loading fails, check your internet connection or try again later. The Open Trivia DB server might be temporarily overloaded. If hard questions in a specific category are limited, try lowering difficulty or selecting a different category.

How is the score calculated?

Score is calculated as the percentage of correct answers out of total questions. For example, 8 correct out of 10 questions equals 80% accuracy. Time taken is displayed but doesn't affect your score, so focus on accuracy.

Can I save or share my results?

Currently, quiz results are only maintained during the session and aren't saved. To keep a record, take a screenshot or note your score manually. Result saving and sharing features may be added in future updates.

Smart Learning Through Trivia Quizzes

Educational Benefits of Quizzes

Quizzes are more than just entertainment — they are powerful learning tools. The psychological phenomenon known as the 'Testing Effect' shows that actively retrieving learned information through tests is far more effective for long-term memory than passive repetition. Reviewing incorrect answers and learning the correct ones is the best way to identify knowledge gaps and fill them efficiently.

Types of Quizzes and Their Characteristics

Different quiz formats produce different learning outcomes. Multiple-choice quizzes help compare similar concepts through incorrect options, sharpening discrimination skills. General knowledge quizzes are great for building broad awareness across many fields, while subject-specific quizzes in science, history, or geography deepen understanding. Timed quizzes improve information processing speed and intuitive decision-making.

Tips for Using Quizzes to Boost Knowledge

To maximize the benefits of quiz-based learning, don't just glance at wrong answers and move on — identify why you got them wrong and study the related concepts in depth. Building a daily habit of short quiz sessions leads to gradual but consistent knowledge growth. Balance across different categories to broaden your thinking, and focus on your weak areas to close the gaps.
