A favicon is a small icon displayed in browser tabs, bookmarks, and address bars. It is typically provided in ICO format at 16x16 or 32x32 pixels. It plays an important role in website branding.
iOS apps recommend a minimum of 1024x1024 pixels, while Android apps require various sizes from 48x48 to 512x512. PWAs (Progressive Web Apps) require 192x192 and 512x512 as mandatory. Selecting a preset in this tool makes it easy to generate the appropriate sizes.
When downloading in PNG format, the transparency (alpha channel) of the original image is preserved. If you need a transparent background, use a PNG original image. The ICO format also supports transparency.
With the icon converter, you can create high-quality icons without any separate design software. It supports various image formats including JPG, PNG, WebP, and SVG, and all processing is completed in the browser to protect your privacy. Uploading a square image will give you the cleanest results.
